Our Story

Karen began her career at Salford Royal NHS Hospital Trust in 2004 before undertaking a number of roles in neurological rehabilitation across Greater Manchester and Lancashire.  By 2011 she specialised further and worked alongside, Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine, in specialist clinics including Spasticity Management, Neuromuscular Disorders, Transitional Young Adults, Intrathecal Baclofen and Non traumatic Spinal Cord Injuries.  Karen also worked part time in the West Midlands Regional Orthotic Department.

On returning to the North West of England, Karen embarked in a role in Case Management.  During this time she was responsible for management of clients with catastrophic and life changing injuries.  Karen worked with litigation teams, independent and statutory clinicians, established and managed support teams to provide a client focused approach ensuring rehabilitation and support needs were met.

Karen then worked in the role of Clinical Lead Physiotherapist for an independent neurological rehabilitation company.  Here, she led a team of clinicians, ensuring the highest standard of evidenced- based care was provided.  Karen undertook postgraduate training and became a Non Medical Independent Prescriber.  She also became proficient in injection therapy for the management of spasticity and dystonia, working both children and adults in private practice and at The Royal Orthopedic Hospital in Birmingham.

Neuro Rehab PT was established in summer 2023.  Our key aims are to provide timely, effective, evidenced based bespoke physiotherapy treatments to our clients, ensuring that their physical presentation is optimized and maintained.  We understand that those who have sustained acquired and traumatic brain injuries require co-ordinated holistic input, and that neurological physiotherapy in isolation will have limited success.  We take pride in work collaboratively within multi disciplinary teams in the knowledge that our clients will progress faster and further.
